It does not explain nessarily for an immigrant here to get a Green Card.What it does is to discuss a needlessly complex process for immigration routinely of a foreign spouse & family.For me it is not like doing a simple income tax form. Instead it is complex with shifting set of laws.While expensive, it proved my ignorance getting a foreign spouse & family here. I ended up hiring an immigration law firm. It is in process.

So easy to follow with very specific steps for anyone preparing for a green card. If you read only one book, this should be it! Every page is not only straight forward and tremendously informative, but thoroughly enjoyable, as well.

I liked the book...maybe a bit draggy. Good to know certain things and put into better perspective but this book didn't help me! Every abusive parent I know of is narcissistic. This book completely failed to take NPD into account and will leave many victims thinking that their abusive parent "didn't realize how hurtful their words were" and other nonsense. Narcissists KNOW the "damage they are causing" and that is precisely why they say and do horrible things. It is how they get their narcissistic supply. They intentionally cause pain, fear, hurt and confusion in order to feed off of us. They wear masks to make them look nice while they plot to manipulate, control and even make you think you are crazy (the term is "gaslighting"). Convincing children of narcissists that their parent(s) didn't mean to hurt them and that they can just confront them and everything will be okay with a few simple boundaries is asinine. I haven’t been in contact with my family for a year. Most of my adult life I spent trying to be the good helpful oldest sibling. And my father would repeatedly ,after drinking, point his finger at me and tell me how he beat my legs with a stick when I wandered off as a toddler. Not quite one year old. My life was filled with him saying that and other demeaning remarks. He has his favorites amongst my siblings, not me. Eventually it took an event to make me finally leave.I kept trying to forgive him, and the siblings. This book made me understand I needed to be angry, so I let myself be angry and hold he and my siblings accountable for the multitude of times I helped them out, and was left to struggle when I really needed love and support.I am not planning to go back. I have a loving family of my own, so I cut the strings. Love is a two way street, not a race track where you get trampled by your horribly enmeshed siblings all anxious to please a narcisstic father. I recused myself from the family trust, just for my peace of mind. I at least don’t need to worry. How the future with each individual sibling goes, ?

This book is by far the most helpful and insightful book I've ever read. I was always indirectly verbally abused by whole life by my father and grandmother in terms of teasing about my physical appearance and calling me sensitive or saying that I know they are just teasing when I would get upset. I would have sever anxiety anytime I had to visit them since I never knew what they were going to pick on me about. The past year I have finally started to talk back and not take the verbal abuse. Because I've stopped taking it and changed the family dynamic, my Father turned to physical abuse a couple days ago. This book is a lifesaver to help me coupe with what happened, how I can move past this incident, and not repeat the cycle of verbal/physical abuse with my future children. My parents divorced when i was around age 8 and after the incident this weekend, my mother is finally telling me all the things he use to do to her when they were married. I've finally realized that being verbally abused by family isn't normal and it should be a safe place where you are accepted. My mother is going to read this book also since her father was also extremely verbally abusive. I'm doing the exercises the book outlines and i'm amazed at how much sadness and anger i have inside. I've finally let go of the facade of having the perfect father. This book will make you cry so I suggest reading it alone to fully soak in a reflect.

I came to understand my father's behavior was emotional abuse late in life, age 50, when I started to have powerful reactions to how he treated my brother's daughters. What I did not know, until this book opened my eyes, was that my mother, whom everyone in the world loves (and for good reason) was complicit in the abuse because she never told my father to stop. She never protected me and she wasn't now protecting her granddaughters. Let me tell you, suddenly coming to terms, at 50, with with your sainted mother's participation in an abusive cycle was a horrible shock, but without this book, I don't know if I would have uncovered it myself and thereby begun the journey healing and begun to call attention to it within the family thereby empowering my nieces to begin establishing and enforcing boundaries. One of the things that I really appreciate about this book is that the author believes us. She really believes us when we say that we were abused. As anyone knows who's told someone who knows the abuser, especially a family member, being believed is the first obstacle. Most people we tell really don't believe us. The abuse we tell of doesn't fit the person they think they know, so they dismiss it. Not Dr. Forward! This is not to say that she fawns over us or coddles us. It is simply to say that she believes us and educates us, helps us understand why this might have happened and gives us powerful tools to learn and grow, to step into our power. I don't even know her and yet I feel indebted to her for this painful, but very necessary book.

I loved this book. It was sad, but it got me through a lot of emotions I had and didn't even realize why I had them. I would recommend this book for any person that feels their parents are mean, makes you feel bad about yourself, makes you feel obligated to them and guilty. The guidelines in it are great. I think Susan Forward knows her stuff!!

Wow. This was one of the most difficult books I've ever had to read. Whereas, I grew up in a toxic home. This brought up a lot of emotions for me. Really good book, still if you were traumatized by your parents take a weekend to read it. I read the book mid-week and had to take off work for a day, because reflecting on my childhood. Its a very good place to start on the road to recovery. I have generational toxic mothers and this book actually gave me more compassion and understanding for my mother.

I hate this book but the kids LOVE it. I am so sick of saying "who's there" in the car that I'm going to scream. But you know what... THE KIDS LOVE IT!!! I have a third grader who reads them out loud in the car and a kindergartener who repeats them off the top of her head if she can remember them. The only bad thing is that there are some old timey names that the kids have never heard before so that makes the jokes not funny to me. BUT THEY DON'T CARE!!! Seriously, the kids do not care if the names are obscure. They still enjoy the book and it's going to make me get into a car accident.

I bought "Knock-Knock Jokes for Kids by Rob Elliot" for my husband for Father's Day. My daughter loves to make up jokes and they always do knock knock jokes together. This book has so many jokes! All fun and all appropriate for all ages. My daughter is five and some of the jokes she doesn't quite understand, but she still laughs. It is a great bonding book for families!

Kids really don't get knock-knock jokes like these, based on puns. At least not in the tender years 5-7 when they are just building their vocabularies. I'm guessing 9-10 yr olds might be ready, perhaps later, if they have the odd gene for word play. Furthermore, even when they do get them, they might not think them good jokes. Be ready to dodge the tomatoes and banana peals. Or a thrown book.

I ordered this book for my grandson, who has Autism and ADHD. Jokes are very difficult for him to understand. He takes things literally. After hearing about why the chicken crossed the road and one other knock knock joke over and over again, sometimes correctly and many times not, I thought he would like this book. Or maybe that I would like the book for him. I had been looking for a book like this, so when I saw it, I ordered it to give him Christmas. I like it. It was easy to order through Amazon Prime. The price was great and shipping was fast and free.It is a great book for kids or anyone who likes knock knock jokes.

My 8 yr. old finds some humor in about 1/4 of the jokes in here. On the other hand, within that 1/4, there are some knee slappers and ticklers, enough to make us belly laugh, from time to time. I say the book is appropriate for youngsters say from 7 on upwards. I find it to be at least okay. I s'pose I recommend. It IS a good coffee table book if you like to at least smile all the time. Being a Prime member, this book did arrive within two days from ordering and it was in perfect condition.

My nieces and nephew are pretty good readers (6&7) and they LOVE to show that off. They are also little stinkers who enjoy good pranks and jokes and love to laugh and make others laugh!These jokes are silly funny - perfect for their age. And some I've never heard, and find myself hysterically laughing at them!This si perfect for them because they can pass it around and practice reading and their joke delivery, while occupying their time and making each other (and their favorite aunt) giggle. WINS all around.

Stocking stuffer for an 8 year old girl... Had I known how many knock knock jokes I was going to endure, I would have bought her drums.

Great for little readers. Gives them a chance to "be funny" while exercising their reading skills. May need help with some words, but mostly easy for 1st or 2nd grade reading levels. Jokes are "cute" but some need explanation to the reader. Made a trip across Pennsylvania enjoyable, listening to little laughter at the "silliest" jokes.....Keep them young, because eventually they'll grow up😔

Deceptive.... I should have researched better before purchasing LDS propaganda. The story smacks of lies even before the halfway through “reveal” of Mormonism, not Orthodox Biblical Christianity.What is true is that this guy traded one religion of performance (Islam) for another. (Mormonism) it was the frying pan into the fire.True Christianity is God rescuing only those He chooses from their hopeless situation with unmerited kindness through Jesus shed blood.He lived the life through Jesus that we should have lived but were incapable. This Jesus, the preexistent simultaneous God/man , died the death we should have died in our place, and reconciled us to God the Father.Run away from this book. There is no truth nor answers to be found here. It’s clumsily written and concocted to boot.

I finished it just moments ago, and the book has changed my life.In many ways, Tito's story is terribly tragic. He is disowned by his family, he loses the love of his life, he is repeatedly beaten and mocked, and he suffers fifteen years in prison for his beliefs before finally being released in 2006 for medical reasons--particularly diabetes, stroke, and heart problems. But at the same time, Tito's story is one of glorious redemption. Through all of his trials, Tito finds the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is a greater gift than all of the wealth in the world.Tito's experiences bring to my mind the words of the Lord to Joseph Smith while in Liberty Jail: "My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment; And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes" (D&C 121:7-8). Tito's life is a reminder to me that no matter how dark life may seem to be, Christ will never forsake us. He will ALWAYS be there.One note: In the book, Tito does not mince words in his descriptions of abuse, drug and alcohol use, sexuality, and harsh prison life. Some of his descriptions are graphic and are obviously not meant for children. However, for adults of all Christian faiths, I offer my highest recommendation for "My Name Used to Be Muhammad". Download it. Read it. And change your life because of it. You won't regret it.

I could hardly put the book down! It was not only an inspirational story but an interesting peek at Islam in different parts of the world. It showed the differences between Nigerian, Syrian, and Egyptian sects (even though they were all Sunni) in how they practiced and also the power of perception and your mind in making the best of any given situation. A very fascinating story of a man who was raised in a very orthodox from of Islam in a small village in the northern part of Nigeria. I was introduced to a family life that made me glad to be raised in a different culture. Families did not eat together, men we forbidden from entering the kitchen. A woman was not supposed to leave her home, or uncover head at any time even in the home. Muhammad was supposed to become a leading Cleric in his country. When he goes away to school in Damascus his world changes, he sees Muslims who are not as orthodox in their faith as he was raised. His experience at the school changes his life. he and a few friends accidently eat a bit of Food during fasting period of Ramadan. They are called infidels, his friends are beaten and when the head master comes to beat him, Muhammad strikes the man first and knocks him to the floor. He eventfully transfers to a university in Cairo to continue his clerical studies. He loses his interest in Clerical studies and makes some moral mistakes and starts drinking and becomes a DJ at a night club. After many months he visits a friend who he discovers no longer drinks or smokes. He asks why. His friend introduces him the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Mormon Church. His life changes when he converts to Christianity and is sent to prison for being a Christian. The charges used against him is that he was smuggling drugs. He discovers this charge is often used to send Christians to prison. Would we convert to Christianity if we knew our life could end at any moment when a family member could kill you as part of an honor killing. He spends 15 years in prison for converting to Christianity. A great story and one shows us a man who discovers Christ and learns what forgiveness means. This is a very good book it helped me appreciate living in a country were people are not sent to prison for following their heart.

2019 is shaping up to an amazing year of reading. This book keeps the momentum rolling as I devoured this book in about a week and then had to go back and read again to explore more deeply my highlights and scribbles in the margin.I really enjoyed the 25 words and has motivated me to think about my own words. What words with my youth teams pick? I found so many of the ideas concepts that can be applied as a teacher, youth coach, and parent. There are many universal truths contained in these pages that work no matter who you are. Additionally, I loved the basketball stories as I love reading about the drive of players like KG.I will be gifting this book to others, but for now it will be required reading for my own children so they can apply the principles to their own lives.

Kevin offers outstanding guidance in a precise, crisp prose. It's an enjoyable and easy read and you can dive in anywhere.I just ordered copies for several coaching friends. While he comes at his essential words from a sports point of view, the words are just as powerful from a career and life perspective. Any one, of any age, would greatly benefit from Kevin's elegant writing.

Enjoyable read and a quick at that. Eastman is someone I follow on Twitter and book matched what I would anticipate.

Excellent read. Eastman lays out his premise and then expounds upon it with really good stories, thoughts, and anecdotes. I highly recommend the book for anyone who leads, wants to be a leader, or is looking for self-improvement.

It was ok, got through it, wasn’t incredible wasn’t terrible. I’m not a basketball coach but love basketball, i think it’s best for them. Nothing earth-shattering. A lot of simple concepts.

As many reviewers said, it's NOT a tutorial in any way shape or form. It seemed like a bunch of "interviews" with various lettering artists, with questions like "favorite letter" and "favorite writing implement". Each artist does provide an alphabet, but there are few instructions.

This is a FABULOUS book. I have created several different art projects with it, including the letter art one (photo attached). As I was completing a large R, a neighbor child was playing in our house. She gasped and said, "That's beautiful!" Imagine her surprise a few days later when I made one for her...

I wish I could find a book that actually gave instruction and guidance on HOW to actually form and shape letters. This book has some amount of eye candy - but no real instruction.

This book has several samples of lettering by different artists. They even give you a step-by-step guide to try your hand at some of them. However I found the techniques not that "beginner" friendly. Step one sketch out your intended silhouette and lettering. (If I knew how to sketch out the lettering, I would not need a book on lettering.) Step three add soft shading using a paper stump. (paper stump?) Step five practice lettering on a piece of rough rag marker paper with a dip pen and black waterproof ink. (not really staples in my kid's craft kit). The book has beautiful samples by fantastic artists, no doubt. I was just hoping for something a little more simple to get my "not-a-natural-artist" tween a step further in her desire to make word art.

More of a cutesy lettering book than a real lettering guide. There are, all in all, maybe 5 useful pages for professional letterers.

I purchased this book as well as creative lettering for kids for my 10 year old daughter for Christmas. She absolutely loves both books. I would say that these books are more intended for inspiration and to give you ideas that you can run with more than a “how to” book. Which I actually prefer, and I’m so excited to get creating with my daughter. I adore Jenny Doh and I can’t wait for the companion book to come out.

I like the 2nd book better than this one. I had very high expectations for this book but when I bought the 2nd book, I was more impressed on the other one. I think the reason is because the examples in the 2nd book was more interesting to me.

This book is terrible. Is marketed as techniques for lettering, but gives no actual instruction on lettering, just how to copy others' art projects. Major disappointment.
